Overview

Need to quickly find a list of postcodes for an Australian suburb? Or looking for a way to determine which postcode for a suburb is the default postcode? Kleber has 3 methods to help. One to predictively search for the locality and two options for postcode retrieval – retrieve all postcodes OR the default postcode.

Default Postcodes – A DataTools Exclusive!

The default postcode method was developed by DataTools to take the hassle out of finding the main or ‘default’ postcode for a suburb from the list provided. It is useful for automated processes or when users are unfamiliar with the Australian postal system.

How was this demo created?

In this showcase we decided to utilise the predictive DataTools.Capture.Address.Reverse.AuPaf.SearchLocality method in the first field to bring up a list of localities (suburbs) as the user types.

When the user selects the required locality from the list, the code immediately calls both retrieval methods & displays the results.
(You could of course just implement one retrieve method  – we’ve shown both so you can assess the difference)

License considerations.

The postcode look up methods use Australia Post data. Users should read the terms and conditions to make sure intended use complies. They can be found here.
